Terms and Conditions

General Conditions.

Only French law is applicable.

General Provisions

Under no circumstances can the tenant (guest) extend the period of stay except by agreement of the owner.

No modification of these Terms and Conditions can take place without the agreement of the two parts.

The owner commits himself not to reveal any information given to him by any guest to a third party unless requested to do so by the government and/or the Courts.

Deposit

A deposit will be required for your reservation. This will be between 15 and 25% of the value of the reservation plus the cost of any meals ordered on the first night. Deposits can be paid by either PayPal, French bank cheque or Euro Travellers Cheques.

Cancellation of Reservation

Any cancellation must be notified (in writing) by registered letter or telegram:

- If more than 90 days notice is given the deposit will be refunded in full within 30 days of receipt of the cancellation letter or telegram.

- If notice of cancellation is given between 61 and 90 days 75% of the deposit will be refunded within 30 days of receipt of the cancellation letter or telegram.

- If notice of cancellation is given between 30 and 60 days 50% of the deposit will be refunded within 30 days of receipt of the cancellation letter or telegram.

- No deposit will be returned if notice of cancellation is given less than 30 days prior to arrival.

The owner recommends that all guests take holiday cancellation insurance.

Payment.

We only accept French bank cheques, Euro Travellers cheques and cash. If you wish to pay the full amount with PayPal then there is an additional charge of 3.5%.

Payment must be made the night before departure.

Arrival.

Please arrive between 16:00 and 22:00.

Departure.

Please leave your room before 11:00.

Cleaning.

We ask that you make your room available from 10:30 onwards each day so that we can clean the room, change bedding as required, empty the bin and replenish consumables. You are free to use our garden and other facilities.

 

Room Changes.

There are times when we may have to reassign you to another room due to other booking requests. A typical example is say when you are on a 5 night stay and a person wants to stay 7 nights part of which overlaps in to your room. Rather than move the 7 nights to your room after you have left we may assign you a different room at the beginning of your stay. We will endeavour to give you a room of equal quality, if we can't (say you booked Sauge and we put you in Fontainebleau) we will refund the difference. If you end up in a superior room to the one you first picked then the cost of the upgrade will be zero. Fortunately this has only happened about half a dozen times in the last 7 years but we are obliged to put this in our T&C.

 

Modifying Your Reservation.

 

More Nights.

If you wish to extend your reservation you may do so although we cannot guarantee the extra nights will be available. Any discounts for length of stay will be included.

 

Less Nights.

If you wish to shorten your stay with us we have the legal right to charge you for the nights you agreed at the time of the payment of your deposit.

 

The amount we charge is as follows.:

- If more than 90 days notice is given the cost of the room for the nights cancelled will be debited from your reservation in full.

- If notice of cancellation is given between 61 and 90 days 75% of the cost of the room for the nights cancelled will be debited from your reservation.

- If notice of cancellation is given between 30 and 60 days 50% of the cost of the room for the nights cancelled will be debited from your reservation.

- No refund will be given if notice of cancellation is given less than 30 days prior to arrival or during your stay.

However should we have another person reserve the room for the nights you no longer require there will be no charge.
